Businesses often develop corporate values, but it seems rare for a company to consistently live them. I’ve worked at more than one company where they wrote them on the wall, but employees didn’t live them in the office. At Capitally, we work hard to live our chosen values every day. In this series of posts, we’ll discuss each of our values and how we live them.
Teamwork is important at Capitally. There’s a lot of work to be done inside an alternative finance company to ensure the company lives to see another day. Consider, for example, all the Canadian alternative commercial finance companies that no longer exist. I’ve found by observation and participation that we work hard as a team to achieve goals and help clients. Team members may need Jonathan’s attention to address a client need, for example. Jonathan goes to enormous lengths to make himself available for those urgent and important discussions. I also find our team parks their egos at the door and just focuses on getting the job done. Pleased to say there’s not much drama at Capitally!
Teamwork also shows up in developing custom solutions for clients. With a significant depth of experience on the team, we consider many creative opportunities to meet clients’ needs. Jonathan has been in this business since 2011, with an extensive business career before that. I owned an alternative finance company for 10 years. Dave in Credit and Underwriting had a full length banking career and has many relevant experiences to bring to a discussion. The list goes on. We apply all of our experience as one team to find ways to empower entrepreneurs to do more, be more, dream more.
